Red lights are often viewed as a nuisance, but they could be a great reminder to “sit back” as you wait your turn. We know; you probably won’t feel “Zen” while in rush-hour traffic, but it’s easier to get in this relaxed mood with a Traffic Light-themed cocktail!

Yes, this drink mimics the green, yellow, and red you’ll see on these traffic signals. Plus, we’ve added a little extra “green” to our recipe with a hint of Tribe CBD oil! So, whenever you’ve got time to put your mind in “park,” try a glass of this refreshing CBD Traffic Light.

CBD Traffic Light Cocktail Recipe

Traffic lights have saved countless lives, but they got off to a pretty “explosive” start. Indeed, just a few months after putting up the first gas-powered traffic light in London, it blew up! Unfortunately, a police officer was significantly injured in this first traffic light accident.

Thankfully, traffic light technology has come a long way since those early days. Millions of people now take the standard green, yellow, and red design for granted while cruising along roads.

However, did you know the yellow part of a traffic signal didn’t appear till the 1920s? Also, although we call it a “yellow” light, it’s technically “amber.”

While you impress your friends with these facts, be sure to ask how long they think an average American sits at a red light every year. Answer: 58.6 hours.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Midori
  • ¼ oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • ½ oz sloe gin
  • 1 dropperful of Tribe CBD oil
  • Maraschino cherry, garnish

Directions

  • Add Midori, tequila, and Tribe CBD oil into an ice-filled highball glass
  • Pour orange juice over the back of a barspoon
  • Gently pour sloe gin over the back of your spoon
  • Garnish with a maraschino cherry, optional

Truthfully, there’s no standard way to make a Traffic Light cocktail. In fact, nobody seems to agree on what ingredients to use in this drink. Plus, some bartenders serve this drink in three “shooter” glasses.

So, if you don’t dig the flavors in our recipe, there are plenty of alternative ways you could make this eye-catching drink. Arguably, the easiest way to serve a Traffic Light is to put vodka in three shot glasses and add ingredients like grenadine, Midori, and orange juice to make the three distinctive colors.

Some people have experimented with layering a shot glass with cranberry juice, orange juice, and absinthe.

Of course, if you don’t want to fiddle with too many ingredients, you could just add food-safe coloring to clear vodka shots.
