In a recent Facebook post, the Irvine Police Department shared aerial video footage relating to the recent arrest of a pair of attempted burglary suspects in Irvine.

The video shows officers apprehending the suspects in an Irvine field, just yards from a steep embankment. IPD credited support from the Irvine Police Department Drone Unit for helping apprehend these suspects.

In the post, IPD detailed the Quail Hill arrest, which was made on Saturday, May 21 in Shady Canyon. Authorities reported that residents called IPD after communicating with the two-masked suspects via the home’s security system.

The suspects fled the property once the homeowners announced themselves through the camera’s interface.

After fleeing, the suspects hid in the canyon area of Shady Canyon. Meanwhile, IPD set up a parameter with aerial support from Anaheim Police Department.

At least one of the suspects can be seen in the video trying to climb up a steep embankment prior to being apprehended by officers.

A vehicle, believed to be used by the suspects, was found nearby. Inside IPD reportedly found a loaded “ghost gun” and a two-way radio.

Two suspects were arrested in Irvine and booked on attempted burglary charges at Orange County Jail.
